Novvia wraps up acquisition of JF Shelton’s packaging distribution division

US – Global rigid container and life sciences packaging distributor, Novvia Group has acquired the packaging distribution division of JF Shelton, a material supplier based in Washington.

Operating out of facilities located in Kent, Washington and Portland, Oregon, JF Shelton Packaging Distribution has been a supplier of rigid packaging products to the West Coast for over 35 years.

The Company offers customers operating in a variety of industries a wide range of rigid packaging solutions, including plastic bottles and closures, fiber and plastic drums and accessories, IBCs, and other rigid packaging products.

The acquisition is part of Novvia’s efforts to strengthen its portfolio, expanding its footprints to the West Coast.

JF Shelton Packaging Distribution will be merged with Rhino Container, Novvia’s based rigid packaging subsidiary, which Novvia acquired in January last year.

Novvia executive chairman Ken Roessler said: “The acquisition of JF Shelton Packaging Distribution adds to our already strong West Coast portfolio.

“We are pleased to have partnered with Ravago Group to complete this complex carve-out transaction.”

Meanwhile, early last month, the company acquired the New Jersey-based Rahway Steel Drum Company, which supplies drums, pails, IBCs and other rigid packaging solutions.

Rahway offers customers operating in a variety of industries a breadth of rigid packaging products, including metal and plastic drums and pails, IBCs, reconditioned containers, and other rigid packaging products.

In November last year, it also bought a California-based distributor of plastic and metal rigid packaging solutions, Auberst Inc. (“Auberst”).

Auberst offers customers operating in a variety of industries a broad portfolio of rigid packaging products, including plastic jugs, cylinders, bottles, pails, and metal cans and drums.

The acquisition strengthened Novvia’s presence on the West Coast and was combined with Rhino Container, Novvia’s Chino, CA-based rigid packaging subsidiary, which Novvia acquired in December 2021.

Other companies owned by Novvia include Inmark, CL Smith, Silver Spur, Container Supply, Fox Valley, Rhino, Novvia Canada, Southern Container and Duval Container.

Backed by Kelso & Company, a private investment firm based in New York, Novvia has set a new industry standard as a national stocking distributor with a comprehensive suite of containers and supplies, trusted local relationships and 40+ years of best-in-class customer service.
